Building Environment and Services 4

Overview

Comprising lectures and seminars focusing on selected elements of Building Technology and the Internal Environment. This component is assessed through both assignment and written examination.

The lecture programme is designed to consider design strategies benefiting practice. It will include investigation into aspects of the selection, spatial requirements and integration of both active and passive building service strategies with the structure and fabric of medium scale buildings.

Learning Objectives

On successful completion of this module, each student should be able to demonstrate:

- An understanding of the impact of building services and science in the integration of design and construction in architecture.

- An ability to compile a report outlining the strategies and detailed resolution of an identified element in a given design project.
