Overview

The workplace portfolio should contain:
Executive summary of placement, which must provide an accurate representation of the placement experience.
Background to the placement experience, which should provide a clear articulation of the motivation for undertaking the placement.
Information about the placement organisation, which should demonstrate a sound understanding of the company.
Evaluation of the main outcomes from the placement.

Conclusion, including discussion of the question, “Are you more employable since completing the placement?”

Monthly Diaries
The portfolio should also contain a minimum of 9 monthly diaries, each signed off by the work supervisor. These diaries should contain descriptions of the tasks undertaken and the responsibilities the student has been given. They should demonstrate the work undertaken and the skill developed by undertaking the tasks. Personal skill development should also be included along with action points and objectives for each subsequent month.

Assessment

Submission of work place portfolio through the upload of diaries at specified monthly deadlines, with the summary (described below) normally submitted by end of July in the year after placement begins.
