Placement (Study Abroad)

Overview

The Placement (Study Abroad) module is a six week placement allowing international Study Abroad students on the semester-long Study Abroad pathway to obtain work-related experiences, develop effective communication skills, and enhance students’ employability skills.

Learning Objectives

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

- Demonstrate an ability to adapt to a work environment
- Develop an awareness and understanding of the structures, policies, procedures and ethos of an organisation
- Articulate skills developed to maximise future career prospects
- Demonstrate an appreciation of enterprise and innovation

Skills

Students completing this module will have acquired: problem-solving and team-working skills; independent time management skills; capacities to critically reflect on experiential learning; adaptability through settling in and adjusting to a new working environment; greater levels of confidence and self-awareness; and networking and communication skills.
